Alice’s 90th Birthday Concert

On July 13th, 2024, Alice Gerrard celebrated her 90th birthday with a grand evening of music in Raleigh’s AJ Fletcher Opera Theater. Alice was joined on stage by Tatiana Hargreaves (fiddle), Rebecca Branson Jones (pedal steel), Reed Stutz (mandolin) and Jim Watson (bass) with special guests: Kay Justice, Joe Newberry, Beverly Smith, Wendy Hickman, Phil Cook, Ginny Hawker, Eliza Meyer, Phil Jamison, Nora Rogers, Gordy Hinners, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer. The concert was presented by PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 1984 to present, promote and preserve traditional music that’s rooted in North Carolina.
